Week 2 - Summer Arts Camp
-
Join us for a week of imagination and discovery! Our youngest artists will explore the process of making art, experimenting with a variety of art materials and tools. We’ll have lots of creative fun and, along the way, explore cause and effect and practice problem solving. Each day begins with a story to inspire imagination, followed by plenty of time and space to practice creative choices and self–expression.
-
Featuring music from Moana and Moana 2, dancers will have fun grooving in this fun ocean themed camp! On the last camp day, dancers will get to demonstrate some of their moves for family and friends and dress up in their favorite Moana or Maui attire. Dress requirement: athletic clothing, ballet or jazz shoes recommended, but socks are ok too.
-
Our Magic School Bus will transform the classroom every day into a new destination for learning and playing. Join us as we create characters & learn basic acting skills using art and stories developed by the famous Ms. Frizzle! Demonstration on the last day of class.
-
Bigfoot, mermaids, the Loch Ness monster?? Oh my! Are you fascinated by the weird and wonderful world of these possibly imagined, possibly real, but amazing creatures? Let’s bring them to life together during a magical week of summer camp. We’ll explore the many myths and legends surrounding fabulous cryptid creatures, then design and create a soft sculpture using upcycled materials, yarn wrapping, stitching, and beads.
-
From Blackbeard to Harry Potter to Dr Doofenshmirtz, this is a hands–on design, build and performance experience. Each day students will create props to be used in a scene they create. A new subject, prop and scene creation every day!
-
Be creative, together with your child this summer! Learn about clay and how to throw on the potter’s wheel side by side in the ceramic studio. Create cups and bowls, and experiment with different techniques for adding finishing touches to your work. All work is fired with food–safe glazes. Look for an email from the Phipps when the pottery is ready for pick up, approximately two weeks after camp. Closed–toed shoes must be worn in the ceramics studio.
