  • This intermediate acting class is perfect for young performers who have some experience and are ready to take their skills to the next level. Building on the basics from beginner classes (although no prerequisite is required), students will explore character development, scene study, and improv. They’ll explore different styles of performance, practice expressing emotions on stage, and learn how to bring more depth to their acting in a fun, supportive, and collaborative environment. The class is led by Braylon Lane, a Twin Cities–based actor/director/teaching artist known for his energetic, encouraging style, who recently directed the Phipps’ production of Miss Nelson is Missing.

  • Teens explore the fundamentals of improvisation with games, ensemble exercises, and scene work in a low pressure environment. Whether you’re new to improv or have some experience, this supportive, lively class will help you trust your instincts, embrace the unexpected, and discover how fun it can be to perform without a script. The class is led by Braylon Lane, a Twin Cities–based actor/director/teaching artist known for his energetic, encouraging style, who recently directed the Phipps’ production of Miss Nelson is Missing.
