Week 4 - Summer Arts Camp

$0.00
  • Our youngest artists will enjoy a week of exploring the nature of clay and experimenting with different techniques for shaping clay into a variety of forms. Kids will use their imagination to create ceramic artwork in this fun camp! All work will be fired with food-safe glazes. Look for an email from the Phipps when the pottery is ready for pick up, approximately two weeks after camp. Closed-toed shoes must be worn in the Ceramics Studio.

  • Get your hands dirty this summer! Learn about clay and the basic techniques of throwing pottery on the wheel. Create cups and bowls and experiment with different techniques for adding finishing touches to your work. All work will be fired with food-safe glazes. Look for an email from the Phipps when the pottery is ready for pick up, approximately two weeks after camp. Closed-toed shoes must be worn in the Ceramics Studio.

  • Step into the magical world of Oz at our Wicked Fashion Camp! Design your own Oz-inspired looks based on the Wicked movies. Campers will explore bold colors, dramatic silhouettes, and enchanting details and create wearable pieces inspired by Glinda and Elphaba. Think magical accessories, emerald jewelry, witch hats, crowns, and more. The week concludes with a spellbinding fashion show where campers showcase their Wicked-inspired creations on the runway.

  • This camp introduces campers to Anime and Pokémon art styles through fun, guided drawing and painting lessons. Learn how anime focuses on clear shapes and expressive faces, while Pokémon blends anime with the cute Kawaii aesthetic. Discover how early designs used soft watercolor shading and how modern artwork uses clean, saturated digital colors. Young artists will practice character design, expressions, and coloring while developing their own creative style.

  • During this week of summer camp, teens will explore fascinating hands-on techniques for adding beautiful designs to clothing and fashion accessories. We'll create original designs on tote bags with a flour paste resist, preserve the summer with botanically printed bandanas, and take tie-dyed t-shirts to the next level with indigo dye and ancient Shibori techniques. This camp lives at the intersection of art and science—offering a glimpse into the world of textile dyeing and perfect for teens interested in fashion and design.

  • Be creative, together with your child this summer! Learn about clay and how to throw on the potter’s wheel side by side in the ceramic studio. Create cups and bowls, and experiment with different techniques for adding finishing touches to your work. All work is fired with food-safe glazes. Look for an email from the Phipps when the pottery is ready for pick up, approximately two weeks after camp. Closed-toed shoes must be worn in the Ceramics Studio. Adult and child MUST register as separate students.

  • Using the world of spies and spy stories as inspiration, campers will explore spy tools, techniques, and character traits. Campers will create original characters and disguises while practicing basic acting skills in voice, movement, and imagination. The camp culminates in a simple story performed as a demonstration on the final day.

  • Costume design is about far more than dressing an actor—it combines imagination and research to create clothing that reflects a specific historical period, an imagined future, or a fully fictional world. This camp offers campers a chance to experiment with artistic styles and the creative process as they invent mood boards and sketches for an assigned scene or production and their own original ideas. We will also cover some basic construction techniques.

  • Ten-minute plays are quickly becoming a popular format in theatres, colleges, and high school theatre competitions. This new workshop gives campers a chance to bring them to life on stage. Campers will collaborate on props, costumes and set design. This camp offers a great opportunity to collaborate in small and large group scenes while building confidence and stage presence through rehearsal and performance. Campers will perform in a showcase of their work on the last day of camp.

  • This camp is designed for kids with prior experience in fundamental improv skills who are ready to expand their abilities in character development, dialogue, stage presence, and scene partnering. Campers will share a demonstration of what they’ve learned on the final day of camp.

  • Lighting design is perhaps theatre's most integrated blend of artistic design and technology. This camp introduces color theory, equipment and virtual console use as well as techniques for using light to tell stories. Campers will create a cue sheet for a short assigned scene or song.

  • Mermaids, fish, sharks, and more! Dancers will have fun grooving in this fun ocean themed camp! On the last class dancers will get to demonstrate some of their moves for family and friends and dress up in their favorite beach attire. Dress requirement: athletic clothing, ballet or jazz shoes recommended, but socks are ok.
