Middles (8-12) - Summer Visual Art Camps

Step into the magical world of Oz at our Wicked Fashion Camp! Design your own Oz-inspired looks based on the Wicked movies. Campers will explore bold colors, dramatic silhouettes, and enchanting details and create wearable pieces inspired by Glinda and Elphaba. Think magical accessories, emerald jewelry, witch hats, crowns, and more. The week concludes with a spellbinding fashion show where campers showcase their Wicked-inspired creations on the runway.

Get immersed in the colorful, tactile and meditative world of weaving! Originating almost simultaneously in every corner of the globe, weaving offers a history rich in tradition and ingenuity which we will use to inspire our week together. Working at their own pace, new weavers will discover how simple materials can be used to weave everything from expressive artwork to functional coasters, cords and bookmarks. Young artists will come home with a sense of pride in their creations and the skills and knowledge to continue weaving long after camp is over.

Ready to enter a world where art does the talking? In this fun, hands-on graphic design camp, you’ll learn how to use art to share ideas, design cool brands, create products, and tell awesome stories. Get ready to boost your creative skills as we make colorful posters, digital drawings, cartoon characters, logos, and more. Come with ideas, leave with designs. Camp requirements: laptop, tablet or Chromebook.

During this week of summer camp, teens will explore fascinating hands-on techniques for adding beautiful designs to clothing and fashion accessories. We'll create original designs on tote bags with a flour paste resist, preserve the summer with botanically printed bandanas, and take tie-dyed t-shirts to the next level with indigo dye and ancient Shibori techniques. This camp lives at the intersection of art and science—offering a glimpse into the world of textile dyeing and perfect for teens interested in fashion and design.

This camp is a creative, hands-on experience designed for teens who love fashion, creativity, or learning new skills. Campers will learn the basics of sewing, pattern reading, and fabric selection while creating their own projects from start to finish. Throughout the camp, teens will build confidence using sewing machines, practice simple design techniques, and explore their personal style in a supportive and welcoming environment. Each participant will leave with completed handmade items, new sewing skills, and inspiration to keep creating long after camp ends. At the end of the week we will have a fashion show to show off our amazing runway looks!

Make your mark! In this high-energy camp, teens learn how to design cool graffiti-style lettering using bubble letters, block letters, and 3D letters with shadows. Campers will explore what makes graffiti pop—overlapping letters, highlights, drop shadows, thick and thin lines, arrows, broken shapes, and drippy paint effects—while having fun and building their own unique style.

Photography isn't just about taking pictures—it's about telling stories. In this camp, teens will learn the fundamentals of photography and computer editing while discovering how images can communicate powerful stories. From epic landscapes to bold portraits, you’ll turn your photos into stories worth sharing. This hands-on camp will build your skills and confidence and give you the tools to develop your own personal style. Camp requirements: A digital camera or a cell phone with a camera and a laptop, tablet, or Chromebook.

This week in camp, we will discover how sketching and painting work together. Kids will explore how sketching serves as a foundation for painting, experimenting with it as a key first step in the creative process. They’ll learn the basics of color mixing and try out various painting and drawing mediums and techniques to bring their ideas to life.

Shape it. Paint it. Make it AWESOME! Get ready to bring your ideas to life in 3D! In this hands-on sculpture camp, you’ll use paper, cardboard, papier-mâché, paint, and air-dry clay to create super fun projects like a mini food truck, wild masks, cool radial designs, and even a giant group paper mural. Team up, get messy, and see what you can make!

Discover the joy of printmaking as you explore a variety of tools, materials, and creative techniques. Campers will experiment with cutting linocuts and block printing—where one design can create multiple prints—plus making one-of-a-kind monographs and textured collagraph prints. These projects encourage campers to think creatively, work with their hands, and discover the satisfaction of making multiples. By the end of camp, new printmakers will head home with a collection of original prints and a solid foundation in this dynamic art form.

Explore the fun of making pottery with pinch, slab and coil techniques—no pottery wheel needed! Learn to build cups, plates and jars and then make them super special as you decorate them with colorful underglazes. All work is fired with food-safe glazes. Travel the world through art as you explore different environments and landscapes. From busy cityscapes to vast deserts to lush rainforests, each day brings a new place to discover and create. Campers will experiment with different art materials and techniques to capture the colors, textures, and moods of places from around the globe. This camp is all about seeing the world through an artist's eyes.

This acrylic painting camp is designed for young artists who want to build their skills, experiment with paint, and begin to find their unique artistic style. Campers will learn basic skills like color mixing and brushwork, then explore more advanced techniques throughout the week. Campers will create paintings inspired by animals, landscapes, and a variety of art styles, as well as choice-based projects driven by their own ideas. This camp encourages trying new things, making creative choices, and having fun with paint.

Level up your summer with Game On! In this camp, young artists will use video games as inspiration for fun art projects. Campers will learn about pixels and digital style while creating artwork inspired by video games across the generations, from retro classics to modern favorites—no controllers required! We’ll design game characters, create worlds and make pixel art.

Step off the path and into a forest shaped by imagination! In this camp, young artists will dream up fairies, gnomes, other enchanting creatures and their habitats. What might be hiding just beyond the path? This camp is all about curiosity, world-building, and creating art that feels like it came from a secret place only you know about.

This animal-inspired art camp invites campers to explore both realistic and abstract ways of drawing animals. Campers will start with foundational drawing techniques and progress into more detailed and expressive styles using their favorite animals as subjects. Work with a mix of art materials to create animal artworks full of personality and creativity. Whether you're drawing a lifelike tiger or an abstract octopus, this camp is all about bringing the animal kingdom to life on paper.

Bring a Minecraft world into reality, re-create a favorite scene from a book or movie, or even imagine a world entirely of your own! During this week of camp, your camper’s imagination gets to run wild. We’ll use the artistic process to imagine, plan and build a three- dimensional scene, or diorama using drawing, painting, and collage. This is a great camp for kids who enjoy building and playing with different everyday and art materials to bring their ideas to life!

Spend the week creating your own painted papers and drawings, then cut, layer, and transform them into colorful collages. Campers will explore designs, animals, and landscapes while learning foundational drawing and painting skills. Work with paint, pastels, markers, and more as you experiment with different materials and techniques. This hands-on camp encourages creativity, experimentation, and confidence in artmaking.

Create cosplay props and accessories to transform yourself into your favorite character! This step-by-step camp will guide campers through the process of using everyday materials and papier mâché to help create a fabulous mask or costume accessories. Get ready to roll up your sleeves, get messy, and learn some great papier mâché sculpture techniques!

Save those delivery boxes and create amazing art! This camp will develop campers’ creativity while creating sculptures and more from everyday recyclables such as delivery boxes, cereal/cracker boxes, paper towel rolls, and more. Campers will learn different attachment techniques, strengthen the structure, add color and additional odds and ends to make unique, creative masterpieces you will want to show the whole family. This class has open-ended projects, so even campers who have already participated will enjoy creating new ideas with cardboard.

Love creating fabulous fashion with beads, braids, and more? In this week of summer camp, we’ll explore skills and techniques to take your jewelry-making skills to the next level. Campers will learn how to twist and cut wire to create wrapped rings, knot colorful cords into macramé bracelets, and transform paper into vibrant beads. Along the way, they’ll experiment with color and design and build confidence as they craft wearable art that reflects their personal style.

This camp introduces campers to Anime and Pokémon art styles through fun, guided drawing and painting lessons. Learn how anime focuses on clear shapes and expressive faces, while Pokémon blends anime with the cute Kawaii aesthetic. Discover how early designs used soft watercolor shading and how modern artwork uses clean, saturated digital colors. Young artists will practice character design, expressions, and coloring while developing their own creative style.
