Guest Services and Concessions

The Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, WI is seeking a Guest Services Associate.

Position Summary:
The Phipps Guest Services Associate is a customer-facing and support role for all programs occurring at the Phipps. Associates are a friendly face positioned at the Center’s Welcome Desk providing exceptional customer service to all levels of participants from audience members to class attendees.

Position Details:

  • 15-25 hours a week

  • Various weekday evening 4 p.m. – 10 p.m., and weekend shifts (availability for some weekend shifts required)

  • Compensation: $15-20/Hour

Guest Services Responsibilities:

  • Assist guests on the phone and in person at the Welcome Desk with general information about the Center and schedule, provide various ticketing services and other customer service processes.

  • Support with concession sales.

  • Open and close the building as assigned.

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to guest and program participants.

  • Answer guest questions promptly, accurately, respectfully, and thoroughly.

  • Provide assistance as needed on various facility and administrative projects.

  • The ability to walk, stand for extended periods of time, move furniture on occasion, light custodial duties if needed, and lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Contribute to a positive, supportive team environment where all staff members can be successful.

Concessions Responsibilities:

  • Sell concessions before and during performances and art receptions in a sometimes fast-paced environment, working with volunteers and the public.

  • Restock sales area and monitor supply levels.

  • Must be able to stand for up to two hours at a time, and lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Must be 21 or older, and able to get a servers license.

  • Able to work in an upbeat and often fast-paced environment.

  • Have reliable transportation.

  • Comfortable answering customer questions and take patience and care in resolving customer service issues.

  • Representative of different cultural and demographic groups from our community.

  • Willing to learn new technologies and skill sets.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

  • Customer service: 1 year

  • Computer skills: 1 year

  • Ages 21 and over
