Teen Arts Studio

Teen Arts Studio

The Teen Arts Studio is the newest program at the Phipps. Open Studio sessions are for teens in grades 8 through 12. Teens can bring their own materials and use the studio time to work on their own projects, use materials available in the studio to work independently on projects, or join a project lead to learn new techniques and art forms from the Teen Arts Studio Manager, Drew Luedke, a graduating senior in the art education program at the University of Wisconsin at River Falls who also attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

Teen Arts Open Studio is currently offered through June 3, 2023, on Wednesdays from 4 – 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 2 – 4 p.m. Students can drop in to any session, but advance registration is encouraged. Teens who drop in will be asked to provide the name and contact information for their parent or guardian. A $10 fee per session is recommended, payable on-line. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. The two steps to register are:

  1. Sign Up Here to sign up for a session or sessions
  2. Pay What You Want Here to register with the option of paying $0, paying the $10 recommended fee for a single session, paying $25 to provide additional support for the Studio, or for paying $140 for a 7 week session.

The Teen Arts Studio is made possible with support from the Hudson Community Foundation and through a generous contribution from Winkie and Bill Coyne. Special thanks to the Teen Leadership Circle, a group of 12 teens from Hudson and surrounding communities, who have helped to shape and advise on this program.
