Starting DateJanuary 19, 2020

Ending DateJanuary 26, 2020

Event Description

Following performances of A Shayna Maidel on Sundays, January 19 and 26

Rob Wertheimer, a Hudson attorney, will present Ruth’s Story, an account of his mother’s experience as a “hidden child” during the Holocaust.

Ruth Wertheimer was born June 6, 1931, in Mannheim, Germany. She lived through Kristallnacht in 1938. She and her family were deported to France in 1940, (her father had passed away in 1933), where they were held in a concentration camp in Gurs. While at Gurs, an international social services agency, OSE, was able to remove her and her brother from the camp. She survived the war as a hidden child, being placed with non-Jewish families.

Rob, her surviving son, grew up in New York City with his mother and later moved to Wisconsin. He has lived in Hudson since 1991 andpractices law in St Croix County.
