“My work departs from oil painting as I explore scale, mixed media and space in a whole new way. I use the art of play to stir up memories of childhood and thoughts of home in the viewer. My grandmother has been an inspiration for my work as I reflect upon her Alzheimer’s and ponder the relationships women have with domesticity. I celebrate my grandma’s dedication to family but also touch on the challenges that come with fitting into gendered roles.“
