“I have always defined myself with labels, and as I turned 40, I found myself lost. I defined myself with the labels ‘wife’ and ‘at home mother’. I felt soulless and stuck. What would happen if I changed my self-imposed labels? What if I was just Anne? This group of paintings is a pictorial timeline for the self-examination I have been going through for the last 15 years. I find myself going from pieces to peace, from birth to rebirth and birthing, again, as I form my identity for life yet to come.“
