Your favorite Newbery Award or Newbery Honor-winning book, in only 90-seconds?
That’s the challenge of a new in-person workshop. Students will work with instructors in small groups, arranged by grade, to choose from a selection of eligible books, read and analyze the book critically for structure and meaning, re-imagine characters and plot into a theatrical performance. Once the students have sourced their own costumes and props from the theater, they will then be ready to present and film their final 90-second Newbery show, edit it all together, culminating in submissions to the national 90-second Newbery Film Festival where it could be selected to be shown at a special screening. More information on the film festival and national program can be found at 90SecondNewbery.com
