It also includes songs by other legends of Sun Records in Memphis such as Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis with special guest appearances by Patsy Cline and fellow rockabilly legend, Buddy Holly. Part II: ‘68 TV Special, The Comeback

By 1968, music had changed dramatically in the United States. Elvis had made 30 movies and was ready for his own change, but were his fans willing to take him back? Part II features a re-creation of the ‘68 TV Special from the iconic boxing ring, black leather, and acoustic jam session to the conflict with the Big Boss Man and the Gospel section that Elvis felt was so important. Elvis tells his story from his roots and the music that influenced him. He sings some new versions of old songs and introduces music that would become his new sound. Also featured are other legends who were forging the new sound, such as Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and more. Known for his unique blending of virtual instrument technology with organ music, his live performances satisfy contemporary musical tastes and pay tribute to the historical legacy of the pipe organ. The program will feature iconic music from film and television including Slumdog Millionaire, The Incredibles, Stranger Things, and Somewhere In Time. Since forming in northeast Minneapolis in 2006, the High 48s have been making music that combines the soulful sound of classic bluegrass with a modern attitude. They’re a band with one foot in tradition and the other in the world of music today, and one of the very few who can find an overlooked bluegrass classic in a song by M.
