Franz Schubert’s Mass in G
Sunday, March 25*, 2018 | 2:00 p.m.
Bethel Lutheran Church, 920 Third Street, Hudson
A contemplative piece for Holy Week, it is the most familiar and popular of Schubert’s masses. This lyric and tuneful masterwork was written when Schubert was a mere 18 years old.
The chorus, soloists, and string orchestra will also perform several other works of singular beauty befitting the season including: “Agnus Dei” from Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem (chorus, tenor soloist, and organ); “The Ground” by Ola Gjeilo (chorus, piano, and orchestra); “Laudate Dominum” by Mozart (chorus, soprano soloist, and orchestra); and “Agnus Dei” by Paul Halley (chorus, soprano saxophone, and organ).
Get ready for an amazing concert. Here’s a short clip from the Phipps Choral Society’s 2016 Messiah performance.
General admission tickets are $24 for adults and $17 for students of any age.
*Note: The date was listed incorrectly as April 25 in the season ticket brochure distributed in May 2017.
