iPad Painting using ArtSet Pro

Event Description

If you have wanted to try digital painting, this is the class for you. It’s like having a portable painting set-up all on your iPhone or iPad device. We will begin with a photograph that you paint over with different tools and mediums. There are 7 brush sizes. Included in the app are oil paint, oil pastel sticks, colored pencil, crayons, marker, conte crayon, paint markers, charcoal, eraser, and a variety of pencils. There are blending tools, like sponge, fabric, thinner, sandpaper and pastel blenders. The color palette includes 55 colors in different opacities and the ability to mix colors. A stylus is helpful, but not required. (A Meko stylus is available through Amazon.)You can choose from 27 papers and canvas for a substrate.

No experience needed. This class is best on an iPad for its size. Download ArtSetPro from the app store before class, and come try some fun paintings. Note: this class uses IOS Apple only, no android, galaxy, etc.

Instructor Debra Dresler, a St. Croix Valley native, has had a rich career in the arts. She began as a studio portrait photographer, then owned a nationally marketed hand-painted fabric company specializing in acrylic painting and surface design for interior designers. In 1986, she founded Stroke of Art studio where she designed and marketed art in many mediums. Dresler has been an instructor for many years and believes everyone is a creator. She encourages wild abandon and adventures in all forms of art making.
