This two-semester class offers an in-depth study of how to create a painting. The entire process is covered from drawing through to a completed painting. The first session will begin with drawing, during which students will learn techniques to improve their drawing skills. Topics to be covered and explored are value, perspective, composition and relationships, as well as focal point and other critical features that make a great drawing. Students also will learn the transfer process and how to begin a painting. The second session continues discussion of topics covered in the first session, using paint and color. The focus will be on color and color mixing, tint, tones and hues.
