The Visual Arts Council seeks experienced teaching artists for an opportunity to help shape the 2018-2019 program of visual arts classes and workshops at The Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, Wisconsin.
The target audiences include all ages and skill levels. Applications will be reviewed by members of the Visual Arts Council, a committed group of volunteers. Selected teaching artists will be independent contractors of The Phipps and compensated per class, based on enrollment.
Classroom space at The Phipps includes a ceramics studio, a dedicated art studio, and a second shared art studio. Six busy art galleries provide opportunities for on-site study, and The Phipps encourages art and nature classes inspired by its location on the St. Croix River.
To apply, submit a resume including three related references, a list of classes or media in which you have experience teaching, up to four images of related work – yours or your students’ – and a sample handout you have prepared for a previous class. These materials should be e-mailed to Anastasia Shartin, visual arts director, firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, January 19, using the subject line, “Teaching Artist Call”.
